Anderson leads way
as Utes edge Bulldogs
They billed it as a grudge match between the old Western Athletic Conference and the new Mountain West. Instead, it turned out to be a showcase for Utah's Mike Anderson. The running back rumbled for a game-record 254 yards and two touchdowns as the Utes beat Fresno State 17-16 in the Las Vegas Bowl. Utah dominated on the ground, gaining a bowl-record 334 yards rushing.

Utah's Cletus Truhe kicked a 33-yard field goal with five minutes left. He also had two PATs.	Anderson, who scored on runs of 34 and 5 yards on his way to a record 254 for the game.	4: Utah improved to 4-4 in bowl games. 93: Fresno State was in its first bowl game since the 1993 Freedom Bowl.
