PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- It was a perfect ending to the regular season for top-ranked Connecticut.

"I was telling the players it's quite an accomplishment," UConn coach Geno Auriemma said after the Huskies beat Providence 102-68 to complete their regular-season Big East schedule 16-0.

Swin Cash scored 17 points as Connecticut (27-1 overall) won its seventh straight regular-season conference crown. The Huskies will be the top seed in the Big East tournament, which begins Saturday in Storrs.

"We've had to win every game in a league where there are some very good teams," Auriemma said.

The victory was Connecticut's 13th straight over Providence. The Huskies are 120-4 in Big East regular-season play in the last seven seasons.

"Bill Parcells says 'You are what you are,' and they sure are what they are," Friars coach Jim Jabir said. "Connecticut is focused. They're intense. They're totally committed to winning a national championship."

Shea Ralph added 15 points for the Huskies, Tamika Williams had 14, Kelly Schumacher 12 and Asjha Jones 11.

The Huskies, who missed 17 of their first 22 shots, led just 20-19 with 10:01 left in the first half when Williams entered the game. She scored nine points as Connecticut went on a 23-9 run to take a 43-28 lead just before the break.

"We have the luxury of bringing in kids off the bench who could probably start for other teams, or probably for us," Auriemma said. "But they're willing to sacrifice."

Connecticut reached 100 points for the seventh time this season.

"The first 10 minutes of the second half was the most aggressive our team's been on offense in quite a while," Auriemma said. "The girls really found the seams in Providence's defense."

Meghan Hinds led Providence (10-16, 5-11) with 15 points, and Dani Trippany and Monika Roberts each had 12. Providence has lost 10 of its last 11.
