Atlanta at Minnesota | N.Y. Jets at Denver |
Jamal Anderson and Dan Reeves will do the Dirty Bird in Super Bowl XXXIII. |
It took a shocking miss by a flawless kicker and an unlikely drive by a gritty, banged-up quarterback. The result was a stunning upset that sent the Atlanta Falcons to their first Super Bowl. Chris Chandler marched the Falcons 76 yards in the final two minutes of regulation and then led them to the biggest field goal in team history as Atlanta stunned powerful Minnesota 30-27 Sunday. The amazing turnabout in the NFC Championship Game was made possible when Gary Anderson missed his first field goal of the season -- a 38-yard kick that would have iced it for the Vikings. With more than 11 minutes gone in overtime, Atlanta's Morten Andersen nailed a field goal -- ironically, also a 38-yarder -- to send the Dirty Birds to Miami.
