![]() Fred Taylor had the third-best day for a rookie running back in playoff history. |
Mark Brunell wasn't 100 percent, and it showed. With their starting quarterback limping around on a badly sprained ankle, the Jaguars got plenty of contributions elsewhere to beat the Patriots 25-10 in an AFC wild-card game Sunday. Rookie Fred Taylor rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown, and Kevin Hardy led a spirited defensive effort that held the Patriots to only one first down in the first half as Jacksonville won its first home playoff game. And Brunell shook off a slow start to help put the game with a 37-yard TD pass to Jimmy Smith early in the fourth quarter.
