KANATA, Ontario (AP) -- The Buffalo Sabres seem to score whenever Miroslav Satan is on the ice.

Satan scored three goals and added two assists as the Sabres
beat the Ottawa Senators 7-4 Saturday night.
"Everything we did seemed to end up in the net," said Satan,
who has figured in 11 of Buffalo's last 15 goals. "I would like to
see every game go like this.
"It's a huge victory. We wanted to start the second half of the
season like this."
Satan opened the scoring on a breakaway 13:46 into the game to
extend his points streak to six games.
Curtis Brown had a goal and two assists, and Michal Grosek, Erik
Rasmussen and Stu Barnes also scored for the Sabres. Jason Woolley
also had three assists.
Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and two assists for the Senators,
and Vinnie Prospal, Patrick Traverse and Shaun Van Allen also
scored.
"It's not the way we want to finish off a home stretch before a
long road trip," Alfredsson said. "It was very frustrating. They
have a really quick team."
Ottawa goalie Ron Tugnutt had another rough outing, giving up
five goals on 19 shots before being replaced by Patrick Lalime at
the start of the third period with the Senators trailing 5-3.
Tugnutt was also pulled in his previous two starts.
"He wasn't playing well and he felt the pressure," Ottawa
coach Jacques Martin said. "I decided to change the gasoline. We
weren't sharp mentally. They just outworked us."
Prospal tied it for the Senators 1-1 at 15:48 when he scored
while falling down in the slot.
Satan set up Grosek 1:20 into the second period to put the
Sabres up 2-1.
Alfredsson was stymied by Buffalo rookie goalie Martin Biron on
a penalty shot at 7:12 of the second, but scored 1:13 later when
his intended pass deflected off a Sabres player and into the net.
Satan and Traverse traded goals 3:14 apart before the Sabres
took the lead for good when Rasmussen and Satan scored in a 1:51
span for a 5-3 lead.
"I don't think we should blame Ron at all," Prospal said.
"This team was desperate because they had lost three in a row and
they are fighting for a playoff spot."
Brown and Barnes scored on power plays in the third period to
make it 7-3 before Van Allen finished the scoring at 11:45.
"It was an uncharacteristic game for both teams," Buffalo's Mike Peca said. "The line that was supposed to score did, while
everybody else played well and did the grunt work."
