NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Bill Houlder scored the go-ahead goal and Tom Fitzgerald added a pair of goals as the Nashville Predators beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3 Saturday night.

With the game tied 16:07 into the second period and Eric Daze and Steve Sullivan in the penalty box, Houlder ripped a slap shot by Jocelyn Thibault from the right point. It was the first Nashville goal by Houlder, who has played for seven NHL teams.

Scott Walker's unassisted score 6:40 into the final period made it 5-3. Fitzgerald scored the final goal into an empty net.

Nashville, 6-2-1 in nine games, snapped a two-game losing streak by overcoming an early two-goal deficit.

The Blackhawks took a 2-1 lead in the first despite being outshot 22-8, a Nashville team record for shots in a period.

A wide-open Eric Daze put a backhand by Mike Dunham at 3:01. Boris Mironov made it 2-0 at 11:37 on the power play, firing a wrister through Dunham's legs from the right side.

The Predators' Greg Johnson cut the lead in half at 16:23. He deked Thibault to the ice on the left side of the goal, then skated behind the net and slid the puck into the right side.

Fitzgerald, Chicago's Doug Gilmour, and Nashville's Vitali Yachmenev scored in a span of 2:42 early in the second to make it 3-3.
