NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Scott Young got the message. Young scored his sixth goal in six games, a shorthanded effort with 4:15 left in the third period Thursday night that gave the St. Louis Blues a 2-2 tie against the Nashville Predators. It was just over a month ago, on Nov. 17, that Blues coach Joel Quenneville benched Young for a game. "Things had to change," Young said. "It's tough when you lose your confidence." He didn't mind the benching. "They did it in a good way," Young said. "Joel understands me as a player. He said, `Don't take this as a negative. I can see that you're losing your confidence. I want you to watch a game.'" It's worked. With Nashville ahead 2-1 Thursday night, St. Louis had a 2-on-1 when Pierre Turgeon skated into the left side of the Predators' zone. Young streaked up the middle, took a pass and tipped the puck over goaltender Mike Dunham for his 11th goal. "Scott's back and he's playing unbelievable," said Turgeon, who has 15 goals and 24 assists in 30 games. "He's got great speed down the wing and a good shot." Roman Turek, coming off consecutive shutouts, made pad saves on Cliff Ronning and Sergei Krivokrasov in overtime for St. Louis, unbeaten in its last six games (4-0-2). "Any time you give up a short-handed goal it's frustrating," Nashville captain Tom Fitzgerald said. "But we didn't quit, we didn't give up. We battled." Dunham made 44 saves for Nashville, which was outshot 46-23. "You stole a point from me," Predators coach Barry Trotz joked to Quenneville after the game. Dunham has stopped 102 of 106 shots in his three games. "Mike's emerged as a No. 1 goalie," Fitzgerald said. "He's playing with confidence, he's playing with good health, and he's relaxed." Randy Robitaille put the Predators up 2-1 at 8:03 of the second period. In the closing seconds of a power play, Robitaille beat Turek with a wrist shot from the left circle. Turek's shutout streak ended at 154:56 when rookie David Legwand beat him to the glove side 58 seconds into the first period, tying the score at 1 with his seventh goal. Marc Bergevin had put St. Louis ahead at the 30-second mark on a slap shot from the high slot, his first goal of the season.
