PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Vaclav Pletka scored with 6:54 left to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 2-1 exhibition victory over the New York Islanders on Friday night.

Daniel McGillis also scored for Philadelphia, which opened the preseason Thursday night with a 4-2 victory over the Islanders in Trenton, N.J. Oleg Kvasha scored for New York.

Flyers goalie Maxime Ouellet made 16 saves in the first two periods, and Neil Little stopped all 10 shots he faced in the third. Wade Flaherty made 38 saves for the Islanders.
