VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Matt Cooke and rookie Daniel Sedin scored less than two minutes apart in the third period, lifting the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-4 exhibition tie with the expansion Minnesota Wild.

Minnesota jumped out to a 4-2 lead early in the third period when Marian Gaborik scored at 6:56 of the period and Cam Stewart added his first goal, a shorthanded tally 63 seconds later.

But Vancouver would not be outdone. Donald Brashear, who earlier today testified in Marty McSorley's assault trial, had his initial shot from the slot stopped by Jamie McLennan and Cooke picked the rebound and flipped a shot into the vacated net to halve the deficit at 11:48 of the third.

Just 1:50 later, Trent Klatt misfired on a shot from the left slot, but Sedin picked up the loose puck and placed a shot through the pads of McLennan for his fourth preseason goal.

Minnesota held a 2-1 edge in shots during the overtime but Vancouver had the best chance as Steve Kariya fired over the net on a breakaway.

Todd Bertuzzi and Mattias Ohlund added tallies and Corey Schwab stopped 24 shots for the Canucks. McLennan, who is battling Manny Fernandez for Minnesota's starting job, made 31 saves.
