Experience will be deciding factor

MELBOURNE, Australia -- It's nice to see top singles players competing in doubles; it creates rivalries and fan interest. It's going to be a very exciting match. Three of the four players are also singles Grand Slam champions.

Former WTA Tour pro Mary Joe Fernandez is providing ESPN.com with in-depth analysis during the Australian Open. Fernandez, a tennis analyst for ESPN, won the 1985 U.S. Open. In doubles, she won the '91 Australian Open, the '92 Olympic gold and the '96 French Open.

Serena and Venus Williams vs. Lindsay Davenport and Corina Morariu (7)
The Williams sisters don't play that much, but when they do, they usually win. They did lose to Martina Hingis and Monica Seles in a tuneup tournament in Sydney two weeks ago, but they beat them yesterday here in the semifinals.

Lindsay Davenport and Corina Morariu have more doubles experience. They won Wimbledon in 1999 and currently are playing a bit better.

Whenever you watch the Williams sisters play together it's very exciting. They have a lot of power and seem to have a lot of fun out there. A lot in this match will depend on Venus and how she serves. She's been struggling with it, so if she can pick it up a bit that will help. Pick: Davenport and Morariu
