France keep same quartet for quarterfinal Reuters
PARIS -- The French Tennis Federation on
Tuesday announced an unchanged team to face Switzerland in the
quarterfinals of the Davis Cup next month.
Arnaud Clement, Sebastien Grosjean, Cedric Pioline and
Fabrice Santoro will represent France in the northern Swiss city
of Neuchatel from April 6-8.
The same quartet led France to a 5-0 victory against Belgium in
Ghent in February.
Nicolas Escude was named as a practice partner and potential
replacement should any of the French squad drop out.
Captain Guy Forget said the French would assemble in
Neuchatel on Sunday.
Switzerland caused a huge upset by beating the United States
in the opening round and will be strengthened by the addition of
Marc Rosset for the tie with France.
Rosset has patched up his long-running feud with Swiss Davis
Cup captain Jakob Hlasek and has been named in a provisional
five-man squad that also includes Roger Federer, Lorenzo Manta,
Michel Kratochvil and George Bastl. Send this story to a friend | Most sent stories
