Australia's captain said changes could still be made Reuters
SYDNEY, Australia -- Lleyton Hewitt, Pat Rafter,
Andrew Ilie and Wayne Arthurs have been called up by Australia
for next month's Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal with
Brazil.
But Australia's nonplaying captain John Fitzgerald said he
had not ruled out any last-minute changes before the April 6-8
tie in Florianopolis.
Under International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules, Australia
-- losing finalists last year -- were required to announce their
squad 10 days before the start of the tie but can make two
changes up to an hour before the official draw.
"We have to name a team in accordance with the ITF rules,"
Fitzgerald said.
"(But) I'll certainly be reserving my final decision until
I've had a chance to see the guys on clay and assess their
form."
Fitzgerald said doubles specialists Richard Fromberg and
Scott Draper also would travel to Brazil with the squad. Send this story to a friend | Most sent stories
