  RECAP | BOX SCORE

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Debbie Black's 10-foot jumper with one second remaining gave the Miami Sol a 57-55 victory over the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night.

Sheri Sam scored 18 points to lead Miami (4-6), which trailed most of the game.

Chamique Holdsclaw had 20 points and eight rebounds for Washington (5-4), which led by as many as nine points in the second half.

The Sol took their first lead since early in the game when Shantia Owens' short jumper with 35 seconds put them ahead 55-54. Andrea Nagy of the Mystics was fouled as she drove to the basket and made one of two free throws to tie it.

Black brought the ball up court and passed it into Owens who was double-teamed. Owens passed it back out to Black who took two dribbles then let go the game-winning shot.

Washington used a 12-3 run to build a 30-18 lead with 4:52 remaining in the first half. But the Sol closed the half with a 9-0 run to get within three points.

After Miami cut Washington's lead to 37-36, the Mystics went on an 8-0 run. The Sol quickly scored six consecutive points to get within 45-43.

Washington's Vicky Bullett recorded her 200th career steal in the first minute of the game when she picked off an errant pass by Katrina Colleton.
