AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Dominique Canty returned from injury to score 15 points, 10 in the first half, as the Detroit Shock beat the Seattle Storm 61-56 Wednesday. Canty had missed three games with a groin strain, but she helped Detroit build a 33-28 halftime edge. Wendy Palmer, named to the Eastern Conference All-Star roster before the game, added 12 points for the Shock. Seattle shot just 35 percent from the floor, but stayed in the game with a team-record 10 3-pointers. Jamie Redd led the Storm with 17 points, including four 3-pointers, and Sonja Henning scored all 12 of her points from beyond the arc. The Shock expanded their lead to 38-30 early in the second half, before Seattle scored the next eight points to tie the game with 13:49 to go. The score again was tied at 46 with 7:20 left, when Anna DeForge's three-point play put Detroit ahead. Canty's two free throws increased the margin to five. Seattle went scoreless for nearly three minutes, allowing Detroit to take a 52-46 lead. Redd scored the next five points, including her final 3-pointer, to pull Seattle within one with 4:44 to go. The Shock answered with a 7-2 run to settle the game. In addition to Canty, Detroit got Claudia Maria das Neves back from an ankle injury. But the team put forward Olympia Scott-Richardson (ankle) on the injured list before the game and activated Barbara Farris. | ALSO SEE WNBA Scoreboard RECAPS Detroit 61 Seattle 56
