WASHINGTON (AP)-- Betty Lennox had a career-high 31 points, and
Katie Smith added 22 as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Washington
Mystics 87-85 Saturday night.

Lennox scored 17 points in the second half, and Smith made four
3-pointers to setting the WNBA record with 79 this season as the
Lynx (13-13) won their third straight.
Nikki McCray had 24 points for Washington, losers of five of
eight at home. The Mystics (11-15) fell one game behind Detroit for
fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Shock beat the
Charlotte Sting 75-72 Saturday night.
Murriel Page had 19 points and 12 rebounds as Washington had
five players score in double figures.
The Mystics, who trailed by as many as 10 points, cut
Minnesota's lead to one with five seconds remaining. However,
McCray's desperation shot was off the mark and after the buzzer.
Mystics coach Darrell Walker dropped to 2-4 since taking over
for Nancy Darsch on July 15.
