Each week I will post my "Dick's Dow Jones" report on whose stock is up and whose is down from across the world of sports.

	Goran Ivanisevic became the first wild card to win a championship at Wimbledon.

Let's start with Goran Ivanisevic. What an amazing story, finally winning his first Wimbledon after falling in the finals on three previous occasions. He beat several talented players along the way -- Patrick Rafter, crowd favorite Tim Henman, U. S. Open champion Marat Safin and up-and-comer Andy Roddick.

Ivanisevic came into Wimbledon as a wild-card entry. He left as a champion with that booming serve. It was great to see the emotion as Ivanisevic celebrated his championship, climbing up to the box where he father was watching the match.

Venus Williams won her second straight Wimbledon singles championship, beating a talented up-and-coming prospect in Justine Henin. Williams was unreal in the third set of the final, serving at 118 miles per hour. She has really matured.

I don't know that much about auto racing, but it was a great moment when Dale Earnhardt Jr. won at Daytona over the weekend. The Pepsi 400 was at the same course where his father died tragically earlier this year. There was also tremendous emotion as Earnhardt Jr. celebrated his win.

Also, stock up to the Cubs, Phillies and Twins, all surprising first-place teams. The Twins are not going to go away, baby! With a pitching staff that includes Eric Milton, Joe Mays and LaTroy Hawkins (to name a few), this team will battle the Indians all the way to the wire. The Twins are well-coached and understand how to play the game.

Stock down: Serena, Mets
Venus Williams won at Wimbledon, but her sister Serena left disappointed. As a former coach, I am tired of hearing athletes who don't win blaming their defeat on injuries and alibis instead of giving credit to their opponent. If it hurts so much, then don't compete instead of making excuses after a loss.

Also, stock down to the New York Mets, a disappointment sitting 13 games below .500 at the break. They never came up with the offensive production in the outfield to make a difference.
