PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Matt Williams is hitting and the Arizona
Diamondbacks are winning.

Williams homered, doubled and drove in five runs as the
Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies 11-6 Tuesday night.
"Can we win without Matt in the lineup? Sure. Does having him
in the lineup and producing make that easier? Yes," Arizona
manager Buck Showalter said.
It was Arizona's third win in a row, just the third streak of
its kind for Diamondbacks since May 4.
Williams hit a two-run homer in the fourth and added a three-run
double in the ninth. He has eight RBIs in two days against
Philadelphia.
"I'm trying to do what I can," said Williams, who has been
limited to just 26 RBIs in 55 games because of an array of
injuries. "My job is to drive in runs. That's what I try to do
every time somebody's on base."
Danny Bautista and Greg Colbrunn each had three hits for
Arizona. Bautista's two-run double broke a 6-6 tie in the eighth
inning.
"We kept battling," Williams said. "That's a good sign. You
keep at them and that tends to carry over to the next game and the
next game after that."
After the Phillies made it 6-6 on Scott Rolen's home run in
the seventh, the Diamondbacks took the lead against Wayne Gomes
(4-5) in the eighth. Colbrunn and Damian Miller singled and both
scored on Bautista's double into the right-field corner.
Byung-Hyun Kim (3-5) pitched 2 2/3 innings for the victory. He
gave up Rolen's 21st home run.
The Diamondbacks took a 6-5 lead in the seventh when Womack hit
a two-run triple and scored on Jay Bell's sacrifice fly.
Arizona starter Geraldo Guzman cruised through four shutout
innings and took a 3-0 lead into the fifth.
Pitcher Randy Wolf's sacrifice fly and Doug Glanville's RBI
single cut the deficit to 3-2.
With two outs, Bobby Abreu hit a hard grounder back to the mound
that knocked Guzman's glove off. As Guzman was retrieving the ball,
he appeared to step on it with the back of his left foot.
Abreu reached on a single and Guzman left the game with a mildly
sprained left knee.
"It's a shame because he really had good stuff," Showalter
said. "Hopefully it's nothing serious."
Mike Morgan relieved and surrendered three straight RBI singles
to Rolen, Travis Lee and Pat Burrell as the Phillies took a 5-3
lead.
Philadelphia, which has gone 6-14 since it traded its ace Curt
Schilling to Arizona, has yielded 53 runs in its last five games.
"That's what good teams do," Phillies manager Terry Francona
said. "Wolf had a problem with his location, especially on his
breaking ball to left-handers. Miss with those pitches and you tend
to get hurt."
Arizona took a 1-0 lead off Wolf on Bautista's gutsy baserunning
in the third.
Bautista scored on Womack's shallow fly ball to center field
after a nasty collision at home plate with catcher Tom Prince.
Bautista originally missed the plate, but scored easily when the
ball went to the backstop.
"It's just playing hard, just like everybody else on this
team," Bautista said.
Game notes
Glanville recorded an outfield assist, his third in three
games, in the first inning. ... Williams has 36 homers in 400
career at-bats against the Phillies, the most of any club.
Williams' 18 homers at Veterans Stadium is second to Barry Bonds
(25) among active players on the opposition. ... Rolen extended his
hitting streak to seven games with a fourth-inning single. Over his
last five games, he is 15-for-25 (.600). ... Womack's triple was
his 10th, tying him with Colorado's Neifi Perez, and extending his
hitting streak to 12 games. ... Dan Plesac retired the only batter
he faced in the seventh. He has retired seven straight over his
last three appearances.
