BOX SCORE
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Grant Hill, making his preseason debut with Orlando, had three points and three assists in 12 minutes as the Magic beat the New Jersey Nets 99-94 Tuesday night. The Nets also lost forward Keith Van Horn, who broke his left leg and will be out 4-6 weeks. Hill, who has been recovering from a broken left ankle, played the entire first quarter for the Magic (4-0). The five-time NBA All-Star looked rusty in the opening moments, bobbling a pass on his first touch. He also missed his only two field goal attempts. New Jersey (1-2) fell behind early as Orlando's John Amaechi scored 15 of his game-high 24 points in the first quarter to give the Magic a 35-22 advantage. The Nets closed to within three points four times in the second quarter as Stephen Jackson scoring 12 of his team-high 20 points. However, the key moment for New Jersey occurred when Van Horn, battling for a rebound with Orlando's Don Reid and Bo Outlaw, landed awkwardly and broke the fibula in his left leg. Orlando never trailed in the second half, leading by as many as 14 points late in the fourth quarter before the Nets finished with a 9-0 run. Orlando rookie Mike Miller scored 16 points in 21 minutes, and Tracy McGrady added 12 points and 10 rebounds. McGrady, who averaged 25.3 points in Orlando's first three preseason games, hit only 4 of 18 shots against the Nets.
