CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Laron Profit tipped in Chris Whitney's missed jumper with 2.1 seconds left, giving the Washington Wizards a 104-103 exhibition victory over the Chicago Bulls. The second-year guard's basket completed a 19-9 run down the stretch as Michael Jordan's current team rallied to beat his old one. Juwan Howard had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes; Rod Strickland finished with 15 points, five rebounds and six assists; and Whitney and Richard Hamilton scored 14 apiece for the Wizards. Ron Mercer, signed as a free agent from Orlando, scored 20 points for the Bulls, who got 19 points and 12 rebounds from co-Rookie of the Year Elton Brand. Rookie point guard Khalid El-Amin left the game in the third quarter after spraining his right wrist diving for a rebound. Yugoslavian center Dragan Tarlac saw his first minutes in the NBA but got into foul trouble and was ineffective in 14 minutes. Bulls first-round draft pick Marcus Fizer added eight points and four assists.
