Michigan State playbook: Mich-again State

Back in the Big Ten again? After reaching their second consecutive Final Four, the Michigan State Spartans will face old conference foe Wisconsin in the national semifinals. The Spartans' tournament run, like their season, has relied upon experience, depth, and clutch play.

With leadership from Mateen Cleaves and Morris Peterson, MSU is now the favorite for the national championship. The Spartans, though, must beware of the Badgers, who they beat twice in the regular season and once in the conference tournament.

ANIMATE THIS PLAY DIAGRAM WITH SHOCKWAVE
(A) All-everything for MSU, Morris Peterson (42) is the go-to man when points are needed. Andre Hutson (34) initiates this set play with a solid downscreen.

(B) Charlie Bell (14) was outstanding at point while Mateen Cleaves (12) was injured. Bell, now at the shooting guard position, receives the pass from Cleaves.

(C) A.J. Granger (43) helps free Peterson (42) with a screen at the elbow.

(D) Mo Pete (42) can finish! Bell (14) dumps the ball inside to Peterson for a thunderous dunk.
