WORCESTER, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Jim Campbell banged in a rebound while shorthanded with 28 seconds left in the second period, lifting the St. Louis Blues into a 2-2 exhibition tie with the unbeaten Boston Bruins.

With teammate Michal Handzus serving a hooking penalty, Campbell tapped a loose puck past goaltender Kay Whitmore for his first preseason goal.

Marty Reasoner also tallied for the Blues, who moved to 2-2-3 in exhibition play. St. Louis had a power play for the first 1:58 of overtime but were unable to capitalize against Whitmore.

Sergei Samsonov scored at 5:26 of the second period and assisted on Steve Heinze's fourth preseason goal with 3:11 left in the session for Boston, which is 3-0-2.

With No. 1 goaltender Byron Dafoe still holding out, Rob Tallas stopped 11 of 12 shots over the first 31:55. Whitmore finished with 19 saves.

Roman Turek went the distance for the Blues, making 23 saves.

The game drew 8,152 to the Centrum, home of the American Hockey League's Worcester IceCats.
