DENVER (Ticker) -- Chris Dingman and Milan Hejduk scored 44 seconds apart midway through the third period and Patrick Roy stopped 42 shots as the Colorado Avalanche rallied for a 3-2 exhibition victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Dingman poked the puck between goaltender Dominic Roussel's pads off a goalmouth scramble with 11:31 remaining to forge a 2-2 tie. Hejduk ripped a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle into the top right corner of the net for his sixth preseason goal.

Roy turned aside all 15 shots in the third period for his first exhibition win. He missed most of the preseason after undergoing minor hip surgery.

Joe Sakic had the other goal for Colorado, which completed a 2-6-1 exhibition slate.

Steve Rucchin and Matt Cullen tallied for the Ducks (3-4-1). Anaheim opens the regular season on Saturday at Dallas, while the Avalanche play at Nashville on October 5.

Colorado played its final game at McNichols Arena before moving into the new Pepsi Center on October 13 against Boston.
