HAMILTON, Ontario (Ticker) -- Dominik Hasek was in midseason form in his first 60-minute appearance since the Stanley Cup Finals, leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 exhibition victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Hasek stopped 32 shots in his second preseason game. He played the first two periods of a 2-1 overtime loss to Washington on Friday in his first action since undergoing offseason hernia surgery.

The defending Eastern Conference champions staked "The Dominator" to a 3-0 lead. Stu Barnes opened the scoring with a power-play goal 17:41 into the first period. Brian Holzinger got to a rebound of Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre's point shot and slid a cross-crease pass to Barnes, who tucked in a backhander.

Jason Woolley and rookie Brian Campbell scored 2:26 apart midway through the second period, just over two minutes before Mike Johnson got the Maple Leafs on the board.

Sylvain Cote had the other goal for Toronto, which slipped to 4-4 in the preseason.

The Sabres wrapped up the exhibition campaign at 2-4-1.
