NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Theo Fleury and Petr Nedved each had a goal and two assists as the New York Rangers used a four-goal third period to post a 5-2 exhibition victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

With the Rangers trailing, 2-1, Tim Taylor started the third-period explosion at 2:27 when he trickled the puck past Chris Osgood while cutting in from the right side.

Just under three minutes later, Adam Graves deflected Fleury's slap shot from the point past Osgood for a power-play goal and the eventual game-winner.

Valeri Kamensky continued the outburst at 6:36, converting a breakaway and chasing Osgood off a lead pass from rookie Mike York. New York needed only 13 seconds to beat Manny Legace as Fleury whipped a loose puck over the backup's right shoulder.

Doug Brown had a goal and an assist and Brendan Shanahan scored a power-play goal for Detroit, which suffered its first loss in eight preseason games.

Mike Richter turned aside 30 shots for the Rangers, who finished exhibition play at 6-3.
