ESTERO, Fla. (AP) _ Roberto Luongo stopped 32 shots and Ivan Novoseltsev scored two third-period goals as the Florida Panthers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-0 in a preseason game Tuesday night. Luongo, acquired in an four-player offseason trade with the New York Islanders, stopped defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh with a lunging stick save during a first period power play for Carolina. He also made a strong pad stop on Sami Kapanen in the second. Serge Payer, Denis Shvidki and Len Barrie also scored for the Panthers. Payer opened the scoring at 8:37 of the first period. Shvidki scored a power-play goal at 3:57 of the second and Barrie added one in the final minute of the period. Carolina goalie Arturs Irbe allowed five goals on 21 shots.
