DETROIT (AP) _ Jason Williams scored at 6:28 of the third period to give the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 exhibition victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. Williams knocked in the loose puck after Nicklas Lidstrom's shot trickled between goalie's Sebastien Caron's legs. Manny Legace made 32 saves for the Red Wings (2-0), and Caron stopped 42 shots for the Penguins (1-2). Pittsburgh's Janne Laukkanen opened the scoring at 4:21 of the second period, and Sergei Fedorov tied with 7:32 left in the period. Pittsburgh star Jaromir Jagr did not make the trip.
