PHOENIX (AP) _ Rookie Ryan Lauzon scored the only even-strength goal of the game at 8:36 of the third period, giving the Phoenix Coyotes a 2-2 preseason tie with the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night. Lauzon, Phoenix's fifth-round draft pick last year, scored on a backhander from the slot as the Coyotes came from two goals down in the final period. Jeremy Roenick scored a power-play goal at 4:44 of the third as the Coyotes turned up the pressure. Dallas goalie Marty Turco made 17 of his 43 saves in the third period and six more in overtime. Richard Matvichuk had a power-play goal for Dallas midway through the first period, and Ryan Christie scored with a man advantage with 4:03 left in the second. Sean Burke stopped 25 of Dallas' 27 shots. The Stars began the third period with a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:39, but couldn't score. Phoenix (2-1-1-1) got back in it on its fifth power play and first of the third period when Joe Juneau sent the puck to Roenick for a one-timer from the slot. The overtime was the first for Dallas, which split its first two preseason contests, and the second for Phoenix. San Jose beat the Coyotes 4-3 in overtime of their opener.
