LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Peter Forsberg scored twice before setting up Chris Drury's go-ahead goal with 31 seconds remaining as the Colorado Avalanche rallied for a 5-4 exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Forsberg tied it at 2-2 midway through the second period before his power-play goal forged a 4-4 deadlock with just under eight minutes left. He capped his four-point night by assisting on Drury's game-winner. Adam Deadmarsh and Milan Hejduk also scored for Colorado, which improved to 5-2-1 in preseason play. Rookie defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky, Rob Blake, Bryan Smolinski and Bob Corkum scored for Los Angeles, which had a 32-25 advantage in shots. In one of his final tuneups before Wednesday's season opener against Dallas, Colorado's Patrick Roy turned aside 28 shots. Jamie Storr made 20 saves for Los Angeles.
