Friday, September 22 Discipline the key for Egypt
Associated Press
SYDNEY, Australia -- Egypt's men earned a team handball
victory that not only carried them into the quarterfinals, but also
gave them a positive outlook on their chances.
After several uncharacteristic handling errors, Egypt got three
goals from Hussein Zaky en route to a 28-21 victory Friday over South Korea.
"We were very disciplined for 60 minutes and played some very
good defense," Egypt coach Zoran Zivkovio said. "We needed a good
win to help take us through to the quarterfinals."
In other men's action, Yugoslavia beat Cuba 33-26, Tunisia
defeated Australia 34-24, Spain edged Slovenia 31-28, Germany
topped Russia 25-23 and Sweden nipped France 24-23.
Egypt (2-2-0) plays its final preliminary Group A match against
Germany on Sunday, while fifth-place South Korea (0-3-1) takes on
Cuba.
