NEW YORK (AP) -- Tari Phillips had 21 points and 12 rebounds as the New York Liberty beat the Indiana Fever 75-58 on Saturday. Vickie Johnson scored 13 points, and Becky Hammon and Sue Wicks each added 11 for New York (1-1). Rita Williams scored 16 points for the winless Fever (0-2). Williams hit a 3-pointer to give Indiana its only lead of the game at 5-2. New York went on an 11-3 run and took a 13-7 advantage with 13:18 left in the first half. Hammon led the surge with five points. Two free throws by Williams got Indiana within 15-11 with 11:38 left in the opening half. New York, behind a 3-pointer and three-point play by Hammon, opened a 10-point lead, 23-13, with 8:48 left in the half. A jumper by Nadine Malcolm pulled Indiana within 28-20 with five minutes left in the half, but New York closed the period with a 15-7 run for a 38-27 lead at the break. Phillips scored the first 10 points of the second half for the Liberty, who led 48-34 with 14:40 remaining.
