NCAA Tournament 2001 - Riley Takes Center Stage

Vandy's Jenni Benningfield can't get by Niele Ivey.

Riley Takes Center Stage
In a matchup of the best centers in the country, Notre Dame's Ruth Riley was clearly the best. Riley scored 32 points to lead the Irish to a 72-64 victory over Vanderbilt and Chantelle Anderson in the Midwest final to advance to the Final Four in St. Louis. The victory sets a third meeting with Big East rival Connecticut, which defeated Louisiana Tech in the East final.
