Anna Kournikova is sitting out the U.S. Open this week, the third consecutive Grand Slam tournament she has missed because of a foot injury. With Kournikova out of action, will her fans abandon her for another up-and-coming tennis diva?
Ashley Harkleroad already has been called a Kournikova look-alike and seems to be following Kournikova's formula for financial success. The 16-year-old Harkelroad has, according to Bloomberg News, already snagged endorsement deals with Nike and Babolat racquets and is considering offers "that have nothing to do with sports."
And Harkleroad could challenge the tennis diva on the court. She's also won zero tournaments, and she was bounced out of the U.S. Open in the first round. But at least she was there gaining valuable exposure.
Is it time for a new Anna? We decided to ask the experts, so vote in the poll at left for the tennis heartthrob you prefer.
