Washington Redskins new uniforms Page 2 staff |
Another sports team is going retro. This begs the question, "Why did they change in the first place?" This time, for their upcoming 70th anniversary season, the Washington Redskins are going back to the uniform style they wore from 1965-69. But the Redskins will only use the new burgundy jerseys, gold pants and throwback helmet with spear-and-feathers insignia for home games, while keeping their white jerseys, burgundy pants and helmet with the Indian head logo for road games. We know new Washington head coach Steve Spurrier, who played and coached at the University of Florida, was a little hesitant about the resemblance to his former arch-rivals at Florida State. "Their colors are more maroonish, whereas ours is burgundy. It's Washington Redskins colors," Spurrier said. But what do you think? Tell us if you think this change is for the better by voting in the poll at right.
