GAME LOG
DETROIT (AP) -- Juan Gonzalez hit a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning and Brian Moehler pitched his 10th career complete game as the Detroit Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-1 Tuesday night. Damion Easley homered for the Tigers, who won for the first time in five games against the Orioles this season. Moehler (8-7) won his second straight start after losing three of his previous four decisions, and improved to 6-2 at Comerica Park. Moehler allowed one run, eight hits, struck out seven -- matching a season-high -- and walked one in his second complete game of the season. Gonzalez was just 1-for-19 during the Tigers' homestand when he hit a bases-loaded opposite-field double off Pat Rapp (6-9) to drive in two runs and give Detroit a 2-1 lead. Dean Palmer's sacrifice fly gave Detroit a 3-1 lead, and Easley led off the seventh with his ninth home run. Rapp, 2-7 in his last 13 appearances, allowed four runs -- three earned -- and six hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out five. Melvin Mora was 4-for-4 with a double for the Orioles, who are 2-3 on a 10-game road trip but have won six of their last 10. Mora and Delino DeShields singled to set up Albert Belle's run-scoring RBI groundout in the third to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead. Game notesMora's four hits matched his career high reached June 25 against Pittsburgh when he was with the New York Mets. ... The Tigers' fifth-inning rally was helped by a catcher's interference call against Brook Fordyce. It was the second catcher's interference call at Comerica Park in three days. Detroit's Brad Ausmus was charged with it Sunday against Minnesota. ... Orioles 3B Ryan Minor played for the first time since Aug. 1, three days after he came off the disabled list from a strained left ribcage muscle. ... Rapp has just three wins in his last 19 appearances. | ALSO SEE Baseball Scoreboard Baltimore Clubhouse Detroit Clubhouse RECAPS Seattle 12 Chi. White Sox 4
