DENVER (AP) _ Brian Rose won his Coors Field debut and Jeff Cirillo drove in three runs to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 6-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Jeffrey Hammonds went 3-for-3 with a run scored and increased his batting average to .370. Todd Helton went 2-for-4 to increase his NL-leading average to .381 as the Rockies won for only the ninth time in 33 games. Rose (1-0) allowed seven hits in five scoreless innings in his second start since being acquired from Boston on July 27. The Pirates stranded 14 runners and left the bases loaded three times. Jose Silva (7-6) three runs and 12 hits in 4 2-3 innings for Pittsburgh. Brent Mayne gave the Rockies a 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI single in the second inning. Rose worked out of a bases loaded jam with one out in the fourth inning by striking out Pat Meares and getting Silva to fly out to right. Pittsburgh left the bases loaded again in the fifth inning when Larry Walker caught Warren Morris' fly ball at the wall in right field. Mike Myers came on for the Rockies with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and struck out Brian Giles looking. Cirillo had an RBI single in the fourth inning. The Rockies added three in the seventh on an RBI triple by Walker and a two-run double by Cirillo. Kendall had an RBI single in the eighth for Pittsburgh. Notes: Enrique Wilson made his first start at third base since coming to Pittsburgh on July 29 from Cleveland. ... The Pirates turned four double plays. ... Rockies OF Juan Pierre had a bunt single in his first major league at-bat. ... Colorado's RHP Pedro Astacio will make his scheduled start in the makeup game Thursday in St. Louis, but won't make the weekend trip to Montreal. Astacio faces a deportation because he faces a trial in November on charges of hitting his wife. He also skipped Colorado's first trip to Canada. ... Kevin Jarvis (back) and RHP Mike DeJean (strained oblique muscle) threw simulated games for Colorado.
