ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Adam Graves' hat trick and Petr Nedved's power-play goal with 4:27 left in the third period helped the New York Rangers rally for a 5-3 exhibition victory over the Atlanta Thrashers. Atlanta enjoyed a one-goal lead after two periods and bumped it to 3-1 at 3:33 of the third when Andreas Karlsson took a feed from Steve Staios and slipped the puck past Jean-Francois Labbe, who replaced starter Johan Holmqvist to start the period. Graves began the comeback with his second goal of the game, a power-play tally just over two minutes later, then tied it at 3-3 at 8:45 to complete the hat trick against former Ranger Milan Hnilicka. The game appeared headed toward overtime when Nedved deflected a shot from linemate Radek Dvorak past Hnilicka for a 4-3 lead. Jan Hlavac, the other member of the Rangers' "Czechmate" line, capped the four-goal burst less than two minutes later. Karlsson and Staios each had a goal and an assist and Jarrod Skalde tallied for Atlanta, which got 23 saves from Hnilicka. Holmqvist made 14 saves before Labbe stopped nine of 10 shots for New York.
