BOX SCORE
EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- Doug Weight scored on a deflection with 1:57 remaining and Bill Guerin tallied twice to lead the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-2 exhibition triumph over the Toronto Maple Leafs. With the score tied, 2-2, Dan Cleary carried into the Toronto zone on the right side. He left the puck for defenseman Brett Hauer, who threw a shot toward the net. Weight extended fully and got the heel of his stick on the puck, redirecting it into the top left corner of the net for his first preseason goal. The Maple Leafs had a power play in the final minute and pulled goaltender Jamie Hodson for a 6-on-4 advantage. But Guerin intercepted a clearing attempt at the Toronto blue line and scored into the empty net with eight seconds left. Jason Chimera scored the Oilers' other goal and Tommy Salo and Joaquin Gage combined for 18 saves. Don MacLean tallied twice for Toronto, which rested regulars Gary Roberts, Mats Sundin, Shayne Corson, Steve Thomas and Sergei Berezin.
