MIAMI (AP) -- Tonya Edwards scored 12 points and Jennifer Gillom added 10 as the Phoenix Mercury routed the expansion Miami Sol 67-44 on Saturday night. Brandy Reed, Bridget Pettis and Lisa Harrison each had eight points for Phoenix, which has won three straight to improve to 8-3. Miami (4-8) tied the WNBA record for fewest field goals (14) and set a team record for lowest field-goal percentage (22.6). The 44 points are the fewest ever allowed by the Mercury. Milena Flores led the Sol with eight points and eight rebounds. She hit a 3-pointer with 9.6 seconds left to keep Miami from tying the WNBA record for fewest points in a game of 41 set by Sacramento against Detroit on Aug. 11, 1998. Phoenix led 39-17 at the half, with the Sol tying the franchise record for fewest points in an opening half. Miami missed 10 of its first 12 shots, while Phoenix made seven of its first 13 attempts to take a 17-5 lead. Phoenix shot 60 percent (15-of-25) in the half, while Miami shot 17.9 percent (5-of-28). Phoenix shot 54.2 percent (26-of-48) overall.
