UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- Brian Rolston beat Wade Flaherty with two seconds left in overtime, lifting the New Jersey Devils to a 4-3 exhibition victory over the New York Islanders. Former Islander Sergei Nemchinov, Ken Daneyko and rookie Eric Betrand tallied for New Jersey, which opened the preseason Sunday with a 3-2 win at Pittsburgh. Battling for a spot on the Islanders' no-name roster, Chris Ferraro had a pair of goals and Mariusz Czerkawski also scored for New York, which won its first two exhibition games. Martin Brodeur went the distance for New Jersey, stopping 19 of 22 shots. Felix Potvin allowed two goals on 24 shots over the first two periods and Flaherty was beaten twice on 16 shots. With a very sparse crowd at Nassau Coliseum, the attendance was not announced.
